By Enoden again -1 Inamuragasaki cape

Happy New Year!

First of all, here are some photos that seem to greet you in the New Year. We look forward to your continued support in the New Year.

Mt. Fuji and Enoshima isle from Inamuragasaki cape.

I went to Enoshima at the beginning of December, but the weather was not good and I lost the data, so I went for a revenge excursion to Enoden(Enoshima electric railway) at the end of the year with my PENTAX K-3III. For the first few articles of the New Year, I’ll try to use the photos from that trip.

I’ll write about them in the order in which I took them. This time, I moved from Inamuragasaki to the Kamakura High School area.

According to the weather forecast here, the day was supposed to be bitterly cold, windy, and sunny in the morning, but clouds would appear in the afternoon. Since I had the idea of photographing Mt. Fuji from the beach, I decided to leave in the morning, and managed to reach Inamuragasaki at around 9:00 a.m.

In fact, the cold wind was blowing as predicted. The sea was quite rough and the waves crashing on the cape had quite a bit of force.

Looking west from the park in the cape, I was relieved to see a clear view of Mt. Fuji. Today’s solo excursion was a good start!

After braving the strong winds and taking a few self-satisfying photos of “Sagami Bay, Enoshima and Fuji,” including the one at the beginning of this article, I took the Enoden again and headed for my next destination Kamakura High School.

The railroad crossing in front of Kamakura High School. Those who know it know that it is the “sacred spot” of “SLAM DUNK”.

My goal was to get a picture of an Enoden train passing through the crossing with the ocean in the background…but it’s not easy, as it’s up to luck to see how the cars and people waiting at the crossing will frame in. There are many tourists who are looking for a “sacred spot” just like me, so it is not always possible to take a clear picture as I wish. This time, I’ll give them a break…

It is not always a bad thing that there are many people. I borrowed the back view of a young lady, who I don’t know if she was a member of the sacred site tour or a local student, and was able to take a somewhat tasteful picture, which I appreciated.

The Enoden runs along the coast from Shichirigahama Station to Kamakura Koukoumae Station. The view on a fine day is quite spectacular.

From here, we will take another ride to that Enoshima island. The next ride will be from Koshigoe fishing port to Enoshima area.

So, I will continue to write this year’s blog with a focus on snapshots and ramblings that are as trivial as ever. Please keep an open mind and patronize us.
