After 2 years Kyoto, Kitano Tenmangu etc.

From Arashiyama, I took the Randen train to visit the Kitano Tenmangu Shrine.

It was a sunny Saturday afternoon in December, and although the shrine grounds were crowded, I was relieved to find it much calmer than the bustling Arashiyama (smile).

Nade-Ushi (stroking cow) that heals various ailments. I stroked his left hind leg well, as I had a little pain in the joint of left leg a few days before this. If you look closely, you can see a bottle of rubbing alcohol under the foot of the petting cows.
After that, the pain has gradually become lighter and lighter, so the blessings of Nade-Ushi must have been there 🙂

Sankomon gate in front of the main shrine. I have visited here several times, and it is always beautiful and neatly shaped.

I visited the temple to pray for a friend of mine who is preparing to take an entrance exam next spring, and got a good luck charm for academic success. I guess everyone has their own reasons for coming to the shrine. I wish all the best to my acquaintances and to all of them.

Whenever I come to a big shrine, I feel an irresistible urge to take pictures of this line of lanterns. What is this habit of mine?

There were no shadows of flowers in the precincts at this time of the year, so I left Tenmangu Shrine and took a short walk around Kami-Shichiken path.

I decided that I had to take a picture of this place anyway, so I started with the Kaburenjo(Training center for traditional Geisha dancers).
These foot lights are beautiful when it gets dark. Too bad I couldn’t stick around until evening.

And the street of Kami-shichiken was very quiet.

I wonder if this is a Ryotei restaurant. The bamboo blind hanging from the second floor house is a nice touch.

Red berries against the latticework of the eaves of a townhouse. Nanten? Or what is it?

I tried to take the shutter at Kami Shichiken with great enthusiasm, but unfortunately, the contrast was too strong due to the time of day and I could not get a good picture. I put my skills on the shelf and blurted out that too much sunshine is a good thing or a bad thing….

Anyway, this is the last article of this blog 2022.

I have taken a lot of pictures this year since I went to Tadami Line in October, and I feel like I took a lot of pictures until December. My skills are as good as ever, so I guess I will continue to write this blog with some unimportant snapshots.

I look forward to working with you again next year. Have a happy New Year.
