Tadami line, early summer 2023 -2

The 2nd day morning, when I woke up early and looked at the sky, the clouds had not yet cleared and it was difficult to see. Oops.

I gave up hope that the famous “1st Bridge View Point” on the mountain would be under clouds by the time the first train passed the Tadamigawa 1st Bridge (between Aizu-Hinohara and Aizu-Nishikata). We headed for the “Landing point” on the other side of the river, hoping that we might be able to get a better view from the riverbank.

Here is the resulting photo.

The lens was DA50-135. It was in such a thick fog that I could hardly see anything. I felt that the landscape lost its color and looked like an oriental ink painting… same as above. Almost of situation is very similar to yesterday afternoon!

It’s OK to take pictures like this two days in a row, yes it would be OK.

FYI, here is a photo taken at the same time with the GF10 (this one is in color).

We left the foggy “Landing point” and headed to Riverside Ohshi village(between Aizu-Nakagawa and Aizu-Kawaguchi). This is also famous as a photo site Kaneyama Fureai Hiroba park where a distant view of Ohshi village can be taken over the Tadami Line tracks on the riverbank.

I have taken three similar photos here in total, and unfortunately the weather has not always been good, but this time I got the most expressive picture of the water mirror.

I can only come here once in a while, but to take many photos of the Tadami Line trains, which make only five round trips during the day, I need a detailed action plan that allows me to move minute by minute, taking photos of one place and then moving on to the next, without looking back and reflecting on the results.

Next time. My target was the Tadamigawa 6th Bridge (between Honna and Aizu-Kosugawa).

Since I had a little time to spare before the train arrived, I enjoyed taking pictures of the bridge and the dam while looking at the hard scenery.

Panoramic view of the dam and bridges. If the sky was clear and blue, it would not be so bad to take a panoramic view, but under this cloudy sky, it is not so good.

That said, it would be difficult to cut out any of these places.

Unable to come up with a good idea, I escaped to shooting wild flowers with the bridge and dam in the background blur.

Continued escape with back to the bridge. Fields and wild flowers with power facilities in the background.

In the end, it is time for the train to arrive without any good ideas.

The DA16-50mm. the powerful structures of the dam and bridge trusses were too powerful to cut out a part of them, so I ended up taking a full view of them. I was hoping to get a more water mirror-like shot, but it ended up halfway… I wonder what I will do next time I come back.

However, there was no time to reflect on the situation, and I quickly headed for Honna Station, which was only a few minutes’ walk away. The train bound for Koide would be arriving in 20 minutes, so I planned to get a picture of “a small station in a village + a Tadami Line train”.

Many of the stations on the Tadami Line (29 out of 36 stations), including this station, are unmanned. However, the platform and station house is clean and neatly decorated with flowers everywhere, and I felt that they are well taken care of by people.

This is on the platform with a private house right across the railway. The back of the photo is for Tadami and Koide.

Go around to the side of the railroad crossing right next to the station to shoot the train photo as it approaches through the village.

Then, the train at the station is in the background, and the flowers by the railroad tracks are in the background.I may have been influenced by the “wild flowers in front of the dam and bridge” shot earlier.

It’s only 8:20 AM, even though I feel like I’ve been moving around a lot since this morning. The Tadami Line photography line is quite a hard one, isn’t it?

And without a moment to catch my breath, it’s time for the next one. Time is a little tight here.
I would like to aim at the train passing the 4th bridge in 30 minutes, but will I be able to make it in time?

This article has become quite long, so I’ll end it here.
If I make it in time, I will see you at the 4th bridge next time.

To be continued…
