CP+ 2024

I didn’t have anything in particular that I wanted to see or touch, but I did go to Pacifico Yokohama on Friday afternoon when CP+ 2024 opened, leaving work early to go to Pacifico Yokohama under a cold light rain. I couldn’t bring a big camera because I was on my way home from work, so I used FUJIFILM XF10 for the photos.

The photo I used as a thumbnail for the top page is of Canon’s huge booth, which I think I am the least familiar with among the exhibitors. The model’s ribbon dance is shown in the picture below, and I hope you all will take pictures of it with your EOS cameras with perfect dynamic AF.

I took some shots from afar with my XF10 compact digi-camera, but they turned out to be interesting, almost like onlooker photos.

In addition to the huge Canon and Sony booths, the LUMIX (Panasonic) booth also held a model shooting demonstration, called “Color of LUMIX,” which is supposed to appeal the fun of real-time LUT and color reproduction.

It is wise not to try to compete with dynamic AF (lol).

LUMIX is trying to show off its extensive lineup of lenses by displaying a variety of L-mount lenses, but I wonder if it would be unwise to make a comment about the SIGMA lenses that are also lined up.

That SIGMA is next to LUMIX. In addition to touch-and-try of lenses and fps of various mounts, the booth was open to the public with a large collection of photo books on display. Cushioned sofas were set up for visitors to relax and enjoy looking at the photo books.

I understand the intention, but I couldn’t relax so much because there was no way to escape the hustle and bustle of the venue.

And actually, this was the most exciting thing for me personally in the place this time.

The huge Plarail exhibit is so large that not only I, but many other people are drawn to it, and I can’t help but take my camera.

Here is an accidental synchronized shot taken in front of the spectacular Plarail tower, which was created by a camera shake.

I heard that there will be a signing by Tomoki Iida at the Impress booth, but unfortunately not on this day.

Yes, just as I was taking this photo, Mr. Koichi Akagi stopped by the booth to talk with us. I was meekly happy because I am secretly a fan of his work.

It is sad that Pentax has withdrawn from CP+, but it is a once-a-year festival of cameras and photography, so I get excited when I come.

I only looked around and ate a little bit, but I left.
