As I have mentioned before, I purchased the LUMIX S 24-105mm as an L-mount zoom lens that covers a medium telephoto angle of view.
I was quite lost in comparison because the LUMIX S 28-200mm F4-7.1, which was released this spring, was highly acclaimed in various reviews for its “excellent performance that does not seem to be a high-power zoom lens, and yet is astonishingly lightweight and compact.”
However, I can imagine what I’ll be talking about, and after I bought the 28-200mm and compared it with the 24-105mm without handicapping “for an all-in-one zoom lens,” I was fooled into thinking that there might be a difference (whatever the fact may be) between the two, and in the end I would have to repurchase it. In that case.
Anyhow I decided to get the 24-105mm standard zoom, which has been well established from the beginning.
It is a bit heavy (680g), but I think it is within the limit that I can get used to it with my spirit. I was more concerned about the fact that it is not fully upward compatible with the 20-60mm kit zoom, since the wide end is 24mm and does not cover the ultra wide angle range.
As I analyzed in another article, there is a good chance that I will want to shoot ultra wide angle around 20mm, so I want to be prepared for that. carrying 20-60mm and 14-28mm together is not a bad idea, but I was wondering if I could do it smarter,
I got the SIGMA 17mm DG DN F4 as well. Wow!
The LUMIX S 14-28mm is a super wide-angle zoom that is lightweight and takes outstandingly good pictures, but even compared to it, the overwhelming appeal of the small size and light weight of this lens is irresistible. We thought it would be ideal as a “super wide-angle charm” to keep in the corner of your bag.
I thought for a moment that 17mm might be too wide and radical for a “charm,” but my enthusiasm got the better of me.
With this, my L-mount camera and lens assets were now complete,
Camera body: LUMIX S5
Zoom lenses: LUMIX S 14-28mm, 20-60mm, 24-105mm
Single focal length lenses: SIGMAi series 17mm, 50mm, 90mm
I think my collection is now complete as a practical collection (I pretend not to see pro lenses and high telephoto lenses because I cannot afford them financially or physically). So here is a commemorative photo of all the lenses I own.
It’s not easy to take a cool picture that looks like a manufacturer’s lens catalog. The big one on the upper right is the LUMIX S 24-105mm and the one with the hood on the lower left is the SIGMA 17mm DG DN.
From now on, I will continue to take pictures as an eternal beginner, using the S5 (full-frame) for wide-angle and standard-range shots and the G99 (micro four thirds) for telephoto and travel shots, while using different LUMIX equipment.
As for my beloved PENTAX equipment, even though I have reorganized some of my existing assets, I will not let go of the K-3III and Limited lenses because I have a strong attachment to them and the pleasure of operating an SLR camera is irreplaceable. When I play with Takumar, it would be boring without a Pentax body.
Therefore, I will continue to use K-mount lenses, although I may not be able to use them as often as I would like.
