Keikyu line walk: Keikyu Tsukuihama

From Keikyu Nagahama, we are walking along the seaside road toward Tsukuihama.

The weather was fine, and the scenery was beyond reproach, but…

This is the first picture I took after changing the lens to telephoto, and suddenly it’s not leveled properly. I’ve done it.

Ups! But I’m not going to give up.
In order to calm the waves of my mind, I decided to take a picture of a vanishing wave block as my next subject. As I walked around taking pictures, I thought that the color, shape, dirt, and crumbling of the blocks made them interesting subjects. I feel like they have a presence in the viewfinder.

Calm your mind with a block and another one with a high telephoto. How’s this for a good one?

This one is also not level…it’s tilted the opposite way from the previous photo. I can’t calm down my heart at all!

It seems that I need to be more careful about the level when I use a high telephoto. Or, on the other hand, I should try to escape by composing the picture so as not to include the horizon line.

As I continue on, the bustle of the Miura coast is gradually approaching, but I will not go that far today, and will leave the coastline at Tsukuihama beach in the foreground.

I don’t fish, but fishing sounds like a fun game to me, and the fact that I can play alone as I please is similar to photography.

Now it’s time to leave the coastline and head in the direction of Tsukuihama Station. Let’s turn the corner of this store.

This looks like an Italian restaurant. The ivy is magnificent, thick enough to cover the restaurant’s sign.

The road leading to the station is a quiet residential area.

As we continue on, we see a few more stores, but I am concerned that many of them are closed. Is it because of the consecutive holidays or…?

Among them, this store stood out.

No, you can’t go in this one, even if it’s open for business. Even if you had the guts, you can’t go in alone for the first time. I don’t even know what kind of restaurant it is (laughs). But it must be so well-loved by the locals that they are OK with it.

A few minutes’ walk from the coastline brought me to Tsukuihama Station.

The station seems to have one of the lowest ridership on the Keikyu line, but the appearance of the station seemed to have quite a presence.

So, that’s all for this photo walk. Now there are only two more stations (Miura-kaigan and Misakiguchi) on the Kurihama Line that have not been visited. I hope to visit them before this summer.

Thank you very much for taking the time to view my photos.
