Relaxing summer -2.Glass Forest Museum

A relaxing and leisurely tour around Hakone. This time, we started from the Glass Forest Museum in Sengokuhara, a famous tourist spot.

Thanks to the generous “photography allowed” policy, I took a lot of photos of the exhibits. I will only show a small portion of them, but there are still a lot, so please forgive me if this article is a bit long.

This angle always appears in various tourist brochures, and I also took the first shot.

The entrance corridor, veiled in glass beads, shines in the sunlight.
Oh, it looks twice as shiny as this with the naked eye, but it’s hard to capture the sparkle in a photo.

The museum building is also quite tasteful. It boasts a collection of Venetian glass, so it looks like medieval Italy, I suppose.

Here are a few photos of the collection that I feel I was able to develop in a nice way.

How about the sparkle of glass with the elegance of medieval Venice? The LUMIX G series + Pan Leica lens may be the perfect combination for this kind of clear, solid-colored picture.

Looking up, we see another magnificent glass chandelier from the elaborate ceiling.

Under the warm light of the chandelier, this is a glass floral ornament.
I was unsure about the white balance, but I think this makes it look pretty close to the naked eye, probably.

The museum has a permanent and temporary exhibition of contemporary glass art works as well as medieval works, which is a different kind of enjoyment.

I have neither the knowledge nor the language to speak of art, but this beautiful “glass book” made me groan.

Outdoor. Under the liberating atmosphere of the Sengokuhara Plateau, visitors can enjoy glass art and flowers made of glass dotted throughout the lush gardens.

I must confess that it was quite a hot day nationwide, and as one would expect, Sengokuhara was a bit too hot to be called “highland freshness”.

We could see the plume of Owakudani in the distance. I realized once again that I was in Hakone.

Oh yeah. It just so happened that a Matouqin(traditional Mongolian instrument) concert was being held that day, and I was able to enjoy the rare sound of the zither.

Thank you for taking the time to read this long article to the end.
We hope this article will give you a glimpse of the joys of Glass Forest.
