Relaxing summer -5.Miyanosita town

This is the last of the summer vacation photos from our relaxing Hakone excursion.

Here are some of the remaining photos, including snaps taken in the hot spring resort town of Miyanoshita.

The center of the town is the famous Fujiya Hotel. Since the hotel was renovated a few years ago, I feel that it has become too exclusive to stop by for a meal or shopping, so I couldn’t go there this time either.
However, the hotel’s own store, PICOT, has opened along the street, making it easier to stop by and purchase the hotel’s original bread, cakes, and food items. In fact, I secretly bought “Fujiya Hotel Curry”.

The old stores lining the streets of Miyanoshita give the area a retro flavor.
For example, this photo studio.
The atmosphere of a good old studio is lovely, but the sample photos lined up in front of the eaves are filled with active celebrities and athletes, and they seem to be much more commercial than they appear. That is also a good thing.

A store with samples of canned Kosen Sembei cookie. It was closed that day, but I hope it was just a coincidence.

Antique dealer.
The reflection of the road in front of the store is grand, but this is also good, just like  Miyanoshita town.

To get to the Hakone Tozan Railway station, you need to climb up this slope from the town along Route 1. The triangular-roofed building in the back front is Miyanoshita Station.

This cafe is located in the middle of a hill. The atmosphere of the store and the view were so nice that it was hard to resist the urge to take a break for a moment due to time constraints.

The mailbox at that store. It’s probably a decoration, but oozes the concept of the store and I thought it was wonderful.

So, that was a little walk around the hot spring resort area during the “Miyanoshita Nostalgic” push.

Now, the last of the Hakone round trip photos is this one, which has nothing to do with the story above.
When I took a walk around the area toward the Ohiradai railroad crossing, I found a water source that looked like a spring. It is called “Sengen no Izumi” (Sengen’s Spring). I took a sip and it was cold and delicious! This kind of discovery is one of the best parts of getting out of the car and going for a photo walk.

I was going to end on a cool note, but after returning to Tokyo, I found out that this spring is no longer spring water, but tap water. Oops.

That’s all for the my summer excursion 2022 in Hakone.
