In Tokyo, the height of the cherry blossom season was hit by rain this year. It must have been difficult for many photographers to walk around and take pictures of spring cherry in a pleasant atmosphere. At least for me.
However, I have only a few photos of flowers in full bloom under cloudy skies, so I would like to post them as a record of spring 2023. I hope you will not be disappointed.

While the basic idea is to enjoy the soft back bokeh that is typical of this lens, the aperture is not always wide open, and I am experimenting with how much background information should be preserved.
The weeping branches are also good.
The narrower the focus, the tighter the photo, which is also a good thing.
I tried to take a picture of the cherry blossoms over the roof of the wooden gate, but I couldn’t get a good composition. I tried to blur out the cherry blossoms in the background with the camellia in the foreground as the main subject, then I ended up liking this shot more than I expected. Of the three FA limiteds I have on hand, I find this 77mm the most useful. It is a medium telephoto lens that is easy to use.
The following are photos taken at different times and with different equipment.
One day, it was raining lightly as usual, and I happened to see a large Someiyoshino cherry blossom at a children’s park where I went to run errands. In a deserted park, no one was watching, just left to fall in the rain. I felt a kind of “cruel beauty” in the petals that were left to fall in the rain in an unattended park. The strength of the small GF10 is that it can “happen to be in the bag” at times like this.
I was somewhat amused to see someone taking pictures of cherry blossoms on the bridge across the street, just like me, so I decided to blur the image to the extent that it would not bother the photographer, and took a picture of “cherry trees along the river and people taking pictures of them.
I understand how you feel. The weather has been terrible, and I was lucky enough to be in a place where the flowers were blooming during a break in the rain, so I wanted to take a picture of them when I had the chance.
So, these are just a few unimportant photos, but they are all I took of the cherry blossoms in 2023. That’s how the year went.
