Akasaka Rikyu, The Guest House -2

This is a continuation of my visit to the Akasaka Rikyu in Yotsuya. My equipment for the walk-through was a LUMIX S5, LUMIX S 20-60mm, and SIGMA90mm DG DN Contemporary.

After leaving the main building, I was able to take a few pictures in the garden.
Here is a magnificent view of the beautifully blooming beds of leaf peonies and the guest house and main building.

The fountain in the main garden is quite magnificent. It is a national treasure.

I had brought the SIGMA 90mm DG DN Contemporary in the corner of my bag that day, so I decided to force myself to use it here. I increased the shutter speed to make it look a bit more “example photo”.

Don’t you feel cool and admire this kind of staircase shape that you often see in foreign movies?

The front yard side, where the main entrance is located, was very difficult to photograph because it is completely shaded at this time of the day. I managed to get just one shot as an alibi.

The main gate, which can be seen in the middle of the photo, was the exit for the day’s tour, just beyond the vestibule. The clear winter sky was pleasant!

On the way to Akasaka-mitsuke from Yotsuya station, the white guest house can be seen from behind that white main gate. I have not had a chance to visit this sacred place for many years, but this time I finally made it happen.

Regardless of whether the photography ban is in place or not, I enjoyed it so much that I regretted why I did not come to visit earlier. Let’s come back in a different season.
