Misaki Maguro Day Trip Ticket -1

With busy work at the end of the fiscal year, hay fever, and tax returns, the beginning of spring has been somewhat gloomy in recent years. In the midst of all this, I suddenly thought that I would like to eat delicious fish once in a while.

What came to mind was the “Misaki Maguro(Tuna) Day Trip Ticket” issued by my beloved Keihin Electric Express Railway. It is a very popular dream ticket that allows you to take a one-day trip to the Miura Peninsula, where you can easily enjoy delicious tuna and go sightseeing by the sea (and of course, take a photo walk).

Come to think of it, I had used this ticket the year before last when I completed my Keikyu all stations crossing, but somehow I had forgotten about it. I must do it as soon as I think of it.

So, one weekend in March. I came to Misaki Port after a long time.

The main objective is to eat good fish, especially tuna, which is a specialty of Misaki. I brought my Lumix G99, Leica DG12-60mm, and Leica DG8-18mm, hoping to take some photos for my blog.

At any rate, I am happy to report on the tuna. We visited Misaki Port “Kura” Honten among many options.
How about this?

The lunch menu features a variety of seafood from Misaki, including tuna, and vegetables from Miura. Even my poor table photo looks good enough, doesn’t it? I’ll refrain from making unskilled gourmet comments and I will only tell you that it is delicious! For more details, please visit the official website of the restaurant linked above.

After achieving our main goal, we took a leisurely stroll around the harbor.

The local colorful streets are fun.

The season of flowers and greenery was far from over, but Kainan Shrine was still quite photogenic.

Since we were there, we took a ferry to Joge Island afterwards. More on this in the next issue.
