While visiting the ex. Furukawa Garden to photograph roses, I took a stroll through another Japanese garden that is also worth seeing and uploaded a few photos. The equipment I used this time was the LUMIX S5 and SIGMA 50mm F2 DG DN.
Descending the stairs from the Western-style mansion on the hill, which can be considered a symbol of the area.
This mansion, built in the Taisho era with brick and stone, actually has a Japanese-style room on the second floor. Sitting on the tatami mats, you can enjoy a view of the Japanese garden spread out below the hill… or so I heard from the tour guide on the day I visited.
In the Japanese garden, which descends from the colorful rose garden, the green maple leaves were truly beautiful.
The snow-viewing lanterns at Shinji Pond are truly picturesque.
However, on this particular day, the Japanese garden was so crowded with people enjoying the scenery that I couldn’t get many good shots… but that’s just an excuse—the crowd actually provided some great opportunities.
Just in front of the lanterns, the couple in traditional Japanese attire happened to pass by, so I boldly used them as a backdrop, and it turned out to be a nice photo.
So, that was my trip to the ex.Furukawa Garden during the latter half of Golden Week to photograph spring roses and Japanese gardens.
Thank you for watching until the end.
