So, I am taking a circulator bus from T3 to T2 at Haneda Airport with a LUMIX G9PROII with Leica DG 12-60mm attached around my neck.
Depending on timing, you never know whether you’ll get one of these rattled flights or one that is full of travelers and left unloaded. Perhaps due to the difficulty in predicting the crowds, the bus service itself seemed to have a high probability of being a “dumpling operation”.
Anyway, we arrived at Terminal 2.
The western sun shining on the vaulted ceiling of the departure floor creates a strong contrast.
T2’s observation deck faces the Chiba side sea, and in the afternoon, the aircraft’s shadow is captured nicely in the forward light. Since the takeoff photo was posted in the previous issue, here is the ANA plane on takeoff run with the Tokyo Gate Bridge in the background, using the Leica DG 50-200mm lens.
At first glance, the image appears to be clear, but when you zoom in, you can clearly see that the heated air is so shimmering that straight lines are not captured as straight lines. Telephoto photography in summer is difficult.
The G9PROII seems to have much more reliable AF and better resolution than the G99.
T2’s circular high vaulted ceiling. This was the only photo where the Leica DG 8-18mm came into play.
It is a good lens that does not loose to the periphery.
The late summer (not early fall) sun is now in full swing, so it’s time to move on to Terminal 1.
And here is just one photo I was able to take at T1. This is my favorite photo of this Haneda walk.
The combination of the G9PROII and the Leica DG 12-60mm is very reliable.
I persisted for a while to see if the sun would tilt further toward the setting sun, but the clouds near the horizon were so thick that the sun was hidden and it became dark, so I ended up taking the best shot at this location.
When I was walking around Haneda Airport in the lingering summer heat and the heat was getting to me on the observation deck, it was nice to be able to take temporary refuge inside the air-conditioned building to catch my breath. Although I can’t take good pictures at all, I enjoy taking pictures of airplanes as a boy, and the G9PROII makes it somewhat less difficult, so I think I’ll come back during the season when the air is clearer and less shaky.
