Tokyu Oimacjhi Line Walk: Nakanobu

I’m walking along the Tokyu Oimachi Line. This time, I’ve come to Nakanobu.

Nakanobu Station on the Tokyu Line is an elevated station with a side-by-side platform configuration featuring two platforms and two tracks.
Near this station is Nakanobu Station on the Toei Asakusa Line, and both are reportedly quite busy stations, each handling over 20,000 passengers daily. There are probably quite a few people who transfer between the two lines here.

Actually, I’ve already walked around Nakanobu Station once as part of a “stroll along the Toei Asakusa Line” tour, so I’ll be careful not to repeat any photos as I go.
First up is a view of the shopping street in front of the station—a scene that’s quintessentially Tokyu Line.

Actually, right behind me as I’m taking this photo, “Uniqlo” and “Matsumoto Kiyoshi” are prominently situated. There’s no doubt this is a pretty bustling area in front of the station, with enough foot traffic to attract these chain stores.

And when it comes to Nakanobu, you simply can’t miss the arcade scenery of the “Nakanobu Skip Road” shopping district, one of the most thriving in the Jonan area.

It was still only around 10:30 a.m., but the hardworking greengrocer’s storefront was already looking perfectly organized.

Oh, this produce shop ended up in the same shot as my previous walk-through photos of Nakanobu. Oh well, I guess it’s not so bad.

I think this is probably a deli (I can’t tell for sure since the store isn’t open yet, lol).

First thing in the morning, it seems the fried chicken dishes are the first to be ready, and I found it kind of interesting that they’re the very first items displayed at the storefront even before opening, so I took a picture.

Here’s a shop that’s definitely open for business.

This is just my personal opinion as someone from out of town, but these old-fashioned “hardware stores” and “general stores” are truly rare these days, so I hope they keep going strong. I hope the local community will give them their full support, too.

A Chinese restaurant I spotted just past the end of the shopping arcade.
Somehow, this place looks familiar…

Ah. This is the restaurant where I had lunch about 3.4 years ago when I was doing a project called “A Stroll Along the Tokyu Ikegami Line” (I’ve been doing all sorts of similar little projects, haven’t I?).
…Which means… ah, right there (the building with the Tokyu Store sign, slightly out of focus in the foreground on the right of the photo) is the entrance to Ebara-Nakanobu Station (an underground station) on the Ikegami Line.

Well, I decided not to go that way this time, so I turned the corner, and just as I expected, the quiet residential neighborhood of Jonan stretched out before me.

So, next time, I’ll walk from here toward Ebara-cho Station, the next stop on the Tokyu Oimachi Line.
I wonder if I’ll be able to find anything worth photographing in this residential neighborhood…
