So, continuing from last time.
I went to Shinobazu Pond in Ueno to take pictures of lotus flowers, and since I still have a few photos of lotus flowers and other things left, I thought I’d fill in the gap during this hot season with a short article.
I was busy taking the usual photos of the lotus pond and the Benkei Hall, but…
Suddenly, I noticed that an old man next to me who was taking pictures of the pond with his smartphone was looking at me and pointing at something. I wondered what it was, so I peeked over and was surprised to see this.
Was it avoiding the summer sun under the lotus leaves? I know very little about animals, so I don’t know what kind of bird it was, but maybe a duck? A grebe?
I took a few photos using “Animal Recognition AF,” and before I knew it, the old man had disappeared. I wanted to tell someone else, so I quietly beckoned to a foreign family nearby and said, “Hi! Here’s a bird!” They responded with an “Oh!” and I felt a little bit better for helping someone.
Following the water birds came dragonflies (laugh).
The pistil and stamen of a lotus flower with fallen petals. It feels like it’s been “naked”
Finally, perhaps for some kind of event, there is a scene of wind chimes decorating a floating bridge over a pond. Thank you for your hard work in the heat!
That’s all for this episode, where I took various photos at Shinobazu Pond besides lotus flowers!
