R. Doisneau & Monochrome photo in Roppongi

There is a long-running photography exhibition of Robert Doisneau’s work at Fujifilm Square in Roppongi Midtown. I went to see the exhibition, which was renewed at the end of October and became a second-half exhibition of works such as “The Kiss in front of the Paris City Hall”.

By the way, the photo in the pamphlet is not ‘that thing’ but ‘Lovers at the Opera Metro Station’, just in case.

I’m sure it’s not necessary to explain this, but this is an exhibition where you can enjoy the work of Doisneau as a professional photographer with an artistic streak, including photos from his days as a photographer at the Renault factory, photos for magazine projects (including that one), and advertising photos. The exhibition will be on display until the end of December, so if you have a chance to come to Roppongi, Tokyo, please do.

Well.
Not that it’s thanks to Doisneau, but recently, whenever I walk around town I feel like taking black and white photos, so even though I shouldn’t, I went to Roppongi Midtown and took a few B&W photos anyway. Yes I konw they’re not very good, but I’ll post them here anyway.

Incidentally, I’m developing the RAW data I took with the compact FUJIFILM XF10 using the Leica Monochrome photo style provided by Lumix. It seems that I’ve developed a mild Leica obsession in the past month or two.
Having said that, I have no experience with Leica beyond trying it out a little at the Leica shop. So I don’t even know if the finished photo looks like a Leica (lol).

Oh, I use several Leica-brand lenses with MFT mounts made by Panasonic, so I guess you could say I’m not completely new to Leica. It’s a shame that even if I could say that, it doesn’t mean that my photography will improve or that I’ll be able to take better pictures.

Anyhow I was drawn to Doisneau and went to Roppongi, and while I was there I had fun playing around with my compact digital camera.
