A few days trip to Kyushu

I went to Kitakyushu for a few days for work.

I hardly had time to take any pictures during the trip, but I was so reluctant to go back home without any results that I took my Fujifilm XF10 in a corner of my suitcase. I’ve uploaded a few photos of my souvenirs, which were just padding, and which I didn’t have time or much energy to take at all.

I needed to be there that day at all costs, but I had to depart late from Tokyo and could not make it in time by air, so I took the bullet train for several hours. Arrival at Kokura Station was close to 11pm. The Kagoshima Line platform where we were to change trains was sparsely populated.

I was quite excited at the time, although it was a bit lonely for me as I was on a long distance trip. This was parked on the platform across the street from me.

Sonic 59, limited express train on the Nippo Line bound for Oita, was very unusual and new to me, as I rarely see JR Kyushu train. I’m not sure I could have done it by air, but I’ll take the train!

This was the first and the last stop on this business trip, though. The only other scene was this one that we happened to meet in the evening near our lodgings.

This is a railroad crossing near the Nishi-Kurosaki Station (now dormant) of the Chikuho Electric Railway. I took this photo without much thought, but the evening sky is rather nice, not bad.

There was really nothing else to do.
It was a trip to Kitakyushu, where I didn’t even have time to take out my XF10, and as a businessman, but as a eternal beginner photographer, it was a trip with very little to show for it.

Oh, yes, the “oden” I had at Fukuoka Airport on my way home was not bad.

The shoddy presentation is due to the skill of the restaurant’s part-timers, and the shoddy gourmet photography is due to my own skills. The taste of the oden with ago dashi broth was very good.

I hope this is just barely enough material for one blog entry. I have been suffering from a lack of good shots lately.
