A monochrome photo walk

After I finished my last errand at the Shinagawa Library, I thought it would be a shame to rush home, so I took a photo walk around the library and other places.

I walked around aimlessly with FUJIFILM XF10 in my hand, so I have no theme or idea, and it is a very random snapshot, but I will introduce it as an article to fill in the blanks as the daily life of a eternal beginner.

A truck parked in a coin-operated parking lot with a lot of gas cylinders. I dared to make it monochrome because I liked the small dirtiness.

An office of an unknown company that doesn’t appear to be open (it’s a holiday). I took this photo because I thought the combination of the blue sky, the old white wall, and the slightly dirty company name sign was nice.
I finished it in b/w as a playful continuation from the previous photo, and surprisingly, I liked it.

Grocery storefront. It’s in black and white because I got icky. Like the other photos, I tried to give it a slightly old-fashioned photographic finish (Rollei Retro 80s style).

Bench on side of office building. I thought the shape and alignment of the plantings, bench, and round stone car stop in the back was rhythmic. For some reason, I made this one monochrome as well.

The black and white is no longer stopping at the hardware storefront. A large clothespin? It’s funny that he uses two of them because one is not enough.

I took this photo because I liked the big roof (probably a temple) across the alley.

The last one is a roadside planter flower that was blooming beautifully. As you can see, I had to finish this one in color or I would have felt sorry for it.

I got a Lumix GF10 last year, so I thought my use of the FUJIFILM XF10 would decrease dramatically, but it doesn’t. It is a handy pocket-sized camera that can be used freely for both blurring and focusing, so it is likely to have many more opportunities to be used.
