Relaxing summer -4.Lake Ashinoko

This is a continuation of the relaxing Hakone excursion.

Hakone, as you know, has a wide range of areas, with large differences in elevation and terrain, so it is relatively clear which areas are suitable for summering and which are not so much. Sengokuhara, where most of the museums are located, is also a cool highland area, but the area around Lake Ashinoko is probably the coolest and most pleasant to the eye.

On the day when the summer heat was expected to be the hottest during my stay, I decided to spend the day around Lake Ashinoko to avoid the heat.

Fortunately or unfortunately, it was a thick overcast sky around the lake. A view of the opposite shore from near around Hakone-cho port.

As a landscape photographer, I was not very enthusiastic about the weather, but the cooler temperatures were a big comfort. The wind was blowing so strongly that I sometimes felt a little cold.

There was a woman standing by chance on the lakeside with her back, so I borrowed her posture for my own use.
I think the G99 and the Pana-Leica telephoto zoom showed a glimpse of their capabilities in the subtle tints and tones of the heavy clouds in this photo, and in the appearance of the cold atmosphere despite the summer.

The Hakone sightseeing pirate ship also looks a little eerie when the sky is so dark and the clouds are so thick.

Although I couldn’t take a refreshing picture of Mt. Fuji, Lake Ashinoko and blue sky, I was lucky to be able to take a photo of lake with a delicate balance of thick clouds and unobstructed view to the other side of the lake. I can also consider myself lucky to stay there without being rained on.

I took this shot on a tree-lined street near “Yama-no-Hotel,” passing through the crowded Moto-Hakone area.
Although not as large as the famous cedar trees along the old Tokaido Boulevard, I was satisfied with this snapshot of the natural scenery of Lake Ashinoko.

I would rather talk about the pleasure of the tea time I spent in the lounge of the hotel, avoiding the hustle and bustle of the downtown, than to describe it in a series of inadequate words. I respectfully encourage everyone to go out and give it a try.
